It was my first day on campus. The Winona State University of Minnesota, a small but neat and clean school. I flew a long way from Bangladesh to be here. The whole place looks white from the plane as it was covered with snow. I knew from my brother that it's very cold in Minnesota as it is on the north. So I covered myself with warm clothes.
I was nervous to be in a new place, but kind of curious too. A Bangladeshi student of WSU came to pick me up. I found myself in a new world, new people.
Its impossible now to express those feelings in words here. But I can tell you my experiences. I felt little comfortable when I saw some Bangladeshi students in the orientation2. They were the representative3 of Bangladeshi student organization. I met students from different countries, like China, Japan, Africa, Iraq. I met one guy from Palestine. Time were moving with joy, I met a beautiful girl from South America who was really a nice person.
We got a lunch break. First time in my life I got the opportunity to taste American food which looks nice but didnt fulfill4 my appetite5 as I love rice and curry6. But I know I have to depend on these foods. After lunch we were taken to visit the campus. Our group leader took us to different buildings and explained clearly. By this time I made some friends who are from Malaysia. I was enjoying every minute. We were also taken to a building to take pictures for our school I.D. I asked my group leader who was a Bangladeshi to take me to my dorm. I was kind of scared first as my roommate is an American. But when I met Riley I felt like he is one of us.
The sun went to bed soon and I felt tired as I walked a long way in the snow and its freezing outside. I prepared my mind for the next day as I have to go to my first class at 8:30 in the morning. So time to go to bed.
Such is my first day on campus.
这是我在大学的第一天，明尼苏达州的威诺娜州立大学，一所虽小却干干净净的校园。我从孟加拉国飞了好长期才到这儿。因为到处银妆素裹，从飞机上看这整个就是一个白色的世界。我听哥哥说在明尼苏达州很严寒，由于这儿地处北方。所以我早就穿得暖暖的。
到一个新的地方我感到有的紧张，同时又有的好奇。威诺娜州立大学的一位孟加拉国籍学生过来接我。我发现自己已经置身于一个新的世界、新的人群当中。
目前用语言来描述当时在这儿的那些感受已经不可能了。但我可以讲述一下我的历程。看到一些孟加拉国的学生后我感到有的放松了。他们是孟加拉国学生组织的代表。我遇见了来自不同国家的学生，有中国人、日本人、非洲人与伊拉克人等。还见到一位巴勒斯坦的男孩，时间就在愉快中溜走了，我还认识了一位来自南美洲的漂亮女生，她真是一个好人。
到了午休时间，我生平首次有机会品尝了看着非常不错却难以满足我胃口的美国食物，由于我喜欢米饭和咖哩饭菜。然而我了解，我需要依赖这类食物了。午饭过后有人带大家参观校园。大家的组长带大家到了每个大楼并了解地做了说明。这个时候我已经交了几个马来西亚的朋友。每分每秒我都感到很愉快。大家还到了一座大楼前照相，以用在学生证上。我请同是孟加拉国人的组长领我到了宿舍，起初我有的害怕，由于我的室友是个美国人。但当我见到室友赖利时，我感觉他就是大家中的一员。
太阳非常快落山了，因为走了非常长一段雪路，而且外面寒冷无比，我感到很疲惫。我整理好思绪为明天做好筹备，由于明早八点半我就要去上第一节课了。目前的确该睡觉了。
这就是我在大学度过的第一天。
