英语的比较句主要有 as...as...格式 和 more...than...格式。
有时，比较的范围非常广。一个句子中，同时存在着不一样的主语之间比较和不一样的宾语之间比较。比如某午餐：
1. 汤姆喝的啤酒跟约翰喝的水一样多。
2. 汤姆喝的啤酒比约翰喝的水多。
1. Tom drank as much beer as John drank water.
2. Tom drank more beer than John drank water.
这两句中，主从句的“比较项”都是 much，但在从句中的 water 之前不可以出现much，不可以说：John drank much water。也就是说，“比较项”只能在主句中出现一次。鉴于此：
You areasfond of music as I am of dancing. 这句话的“比较项”是 fond，在从句括号里的 fond 需要去掉。改为：

【翻译】在土壤微生物学、生态学、医学和人类学等不一样的范围。
3、非谓语问题：

as far as 的使用方法：
（1）as far as 视为一个短语介词，后接地址名词。表示“远至......地方”。比如：
We walked as far as the railroad station. 大家走到火车站那样远的地方。
My garden extends as far as the river. 我的花园一直伸展到河边。
The ladder wont quite reach as far as the window. 这梯子非常难够到窗子。
We drive as far as the utmost end of this city. 大家开车到此城的边界。

（2）as far as 用作连词，接句子。意为“跟......一样远”，还表示状况达到某种程度，意为“远到...；就…而言；在…范围内”。
The desert continued as far as the eye could see. 沙漠一直伸展到视线的尽头。
They went as far as they could. 他们尽了最大努力走了那样远的路程。
The ocean stretched as far as they could see on all sides. 海洋十分辽阔，他们极目远眺无边无涯。
依据第（2）种使用方法，Freedom of speech is the right of every man as far as he does by it. 意思是说，这种权利的范围最远至“每一个人凭着它做事情”，言论自由的权利不可以超越范围。
